Introduction
First, administer general anesthesia to the patient. Then, use a mild antiseptic solution such as povidone-iodine to disinfect the wound site. Make a 5mm incision above the umbilicus and insert laparoscopic instruments for exploration to determine whether bilateral hernias are present. Use a laparoscopic suture device to ligate the patent processus vaginalis, or perform suturing with a needle holder. Finally, cover and dress the wound with sterile dressings.

Minimally invasive surgery for hernia is generally performed under laparoscopy, with the specific procedure as follows:

1. Anesthesia: The doctor administers general anesthesia intravenously to ensure the patient feels no pain during the operation.

2. Disinfection: Surgical instruments are sterilized, and then the surgical site is disinfected using a mild antiseptic solution such as iodophor.

3. Surgical procedure: A 5mm incision is made above the navel, through which laparoscopic instruments are inserted for exploration.

4. A 3mm port is created in the lower left abdomen to introduce auxiliary laparoscopic instruments.

5. Using the laparoscope, the surgeon locates any patent processus vaginalis (hernia sac) within the abdominal cavity and checks the opposite side for potential undetected hernias or persistent ducts.

6. Under laparoscopic guidance, a abdominal wall suturing device is introduced into the inguinal region to ligate the patent processus vaginalis, or a needle holder is used to perform the ligation.

7. After confirming secure ligation, the abdominal cavity is re-examined. If no abnormalities are found, the instruments, scope, and trocars are removed. The incisions are sutured and covered with sterile dressings.

Note: This procedure must be performed under the guidance of a qualified medical professional.
