Playing basketball offers various benefits, including preventing cardiovascular diseases, controlling body weight, improving body shape, enhancing digestive system function, and strengthening overall physical fitness. However, because basketball involves intense physical contact, it can easily lead to sprains and strains of the joint ligaments.

Participating in basketball helps improve heart function, increases stroke volume, thickens arterial walls, and promotes the growth of smooth muscle cells and elastic fibers. Basketball also increases capillary distribution in skeletal muscles. Playing basketball promotes nutrient consumption and accelerates whole-body metabolism, thereby stimulating appetite. Additionally, it enhances gastrointestinal motility, increases secretion of digestive fluids, improves liver and pancreas function, and strengthens the body's overall physiological functions, providing solid physiological support for human health and longevity. However, due to the high-contact nature of basketball, joint ligament injuries are common. Long-term, high-intensity play requires proper protective equipment to safeguard key body areas.

Generally, each basketball session should not exceed one hour.
