Consuming cold water, iced water, or chilled beverages at this time can irritate the gastrointestinal mucosa and blood vessels, causing sudden constriction of the mucosal blood vessels, local spasms, and symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Excessive intake of iced water may even lead to severe cramping around the navel accompanied by diarrhea. Therefore, in daily life, it is recommended to drink warm water or a light saline solution after exercise to replenish the body's required fluids and energy.
