Introduction
Recurrent eye allergies may be due to an allergic constitution, using low-quality cosmetics, exposure to pollutants, prolonged eye strain, or decreased immunity. It is recommended to visit a hospital promptly, take antiallergic medications as prescribed by a doctor to inhibit histamine release and alleviate allergy symptoms, actively avoid allergens, prevent further exposure, and promote recovery.

Recurrent eye allergies may be due to an allergic constitution, using low-quality cosmetics, exposure to pollutants, prolonged eye strain, or decreased immunity.

  1. Allergic Constitution

Individuals with an allergic constitution—whose immune systems are overly sensitive to certain substances—may easily develop eye allergy symptoms such as itching, tearing, and increased secretions when exposed to irritants.

  2. Using Low-Quality Cosmetics

Using substandard cosmetics such as eyeshadow or mascara may trigger an immune response due to their chemical ingredients, leading to allergic eye symptoms like itching and redness.

  3. Exposure to Pollutants

Frequent contact with environmental pollutants, such as nitrogen oxides or particulate matter in the air, may irritate the eyes and induce allergic reactions, resulting in symptoms like redness, swelling, and excessive tearing.

  4. Prolonged Eye Strain

Excessive eye use or chronic lack of sleep without adequate rest may lead to eye congestion, edema, and increased capillary permeability, thereby increasing the frequency of eye allergy episodes.

  5. Decreased Immunity

A weakened immune system may heighten the body's sensitivity to irritants, making it more prone to allergic reactions, including eye allergies.

After developing eye allergies, patients are advised to seek timely medical care. Under a doctor’s guidance, antihistamine medications can be taken to suppress histamine release and alleviate symptoms. Commonly used drugs include chlorpheniramine maleate tablets, ebastine tablets, and cetirizine hydrochloride tablets. Additionally, it is important to promptly remove or avoid contact with allergens to prevent recurrence and promote recovery.
