Introduction
Swelling of the eyelid has suddenly occurred; treatment should be based on the underlying cause. For insect bites, apply cold compresses and use corticosteroid medications such as mometasone furoate cream or clobetasol propionate cream. For contact dermatitis, take antihistamine medications such as cetirizine hydrochloride tablets or loratadine tablets. For blepharitis, treat with topical antibiotic eye drops such as tobramycin eye drops or levofloxacin eye drops.

Swollen eyelids suddenly appearing should be treated according to the specific underlying cause responsible for the symptom. Common causes include insect bites, contact dermatitis, and blepharitis.

1. Insect bites: If swelling results from an insect bite, it is recommended to apply ice packs to the eyelid. When necessary, topical corticosteroid medications such as mometasone furoate cream or clobetasol propionate cream may be used under medical supervision to help relieve symptoms.

2. Contact dermatitis: If caused by contact dermatitis, antihistamine medications such as cetirizine hydrochloride tablets or loratadine tablets may be taken under a doctor's guidance. These help reduce local exudation, counteract allergic reactions, and improve swelling.

3. Blepharitis: If due to blepharitis, antibiotic eye drops such as tobramycin eye drops or levofloxacin eye drops can be applied locally under medical advice to promote resolution of inflammation and alleviate swelling. If an abscess develops, incision and drainage may be required.

In addition, conditions such as kidney disease or diabetes may also cause this symptom. It is recommended to visit a hospital for tests including complete blood count and renal function assessment to identify the exact cause and receive appropriate, targeted treatment.
