What is the usage method for COVID-19 self-testing kits?
COVID-19 self-testing kits refer to antigen tests for the novel coronavirus. When it is inconvenient to go out for nucleic acid testing, we can perform an initial self-test at home using a coronavirus antigen test. The specific steps are as follows:
1. Sit down and wash your hands thoroughly, as well as both nasal passages.
2. Remove the nasal swab and gently insert it 1–1.5 cm into one nostril until you feel slight resistance.
3. Rotate the swab against the inside wall of the nostril four times, then repeat the same procedure in the other nostril.
4. After removing the swab, immerse the cotton tip into the buffer solution tube and swirl for 30 seconds. Then squeeze the sample tube five times with your hand.
5. Securely cap the dropper tip, turn the sample tube upside down, and dispense exactly four drops into the sample well (S) of the test device. Wait 15–30 minutes before reading the result. If both T and C lines appear, the result is positive; if only the C line appears, the result is negative. Any other outcome is considered invalid and the test must be repeated.
