Introduction
Infantile eczema is the most common skin condition during infancy. It is primarily caused by an allergy to proteins in formula or breast milk. For eczema caused by allergies, oral antihistamines such as chlorpheniramine are recommended, along with topical applications of vitamin B6 ointment and zinc oxide ointment. If the condition is not severe, treatment may not be necessary, as it usually improves naturally after one and a half years of age.

Infantile eczema is a common pediatric skin condition in modern life that significantly affects children's physical health. So, how should infantile eczema be treated?

How to Treat Infantile Eczema

Infantile eczema is the most common skin disease during infancy. It is primarily caused by an allergy to proteins found in formula milk or breast milk. For eczema triggered by allergies, it is recommended to take oral antihistamines such as chlorpheniramine, along with topical applications of vitamin B6 ointment and zinc oxide ointment. If the condition is not severe, treatment may not be necessary, as symptoms often resolve naturally after one and a half years of age. However, ointments containing corticosteroids should not be used long-term. After the eczema has healed, I apply zinc oxide ointment to my baby daily.

The main causes of childhood eczema include: 1) Allergic reactions—children have low resistance, and exposure to certain substances such as fish, shrimp, pollen, milk, or animal fur may trigger allergic responses leading to eczema. 2) Genetic factors—children are more likely to develop eczema if parents or other family members have a history of widespread eczema. 3) Improper daily skincare—children have thin stratum corneum; frequent use of alkaline soaps or shower gels, excessive bathing, or water that is too hot can lead to eczema or dermatitis.

Parents should pay close attention to their children's health, especially skin conditions. If your child shows signs of infantile eczema, timely intervention is recommended. We hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you good health and happiness!
