How is albumin administered by injection?
Albumin is generally administered via intravenous infusion. Intravenous infusion of albumin usually requires venipuncture, followed by opening the infusion set and starting the infusion. The specific procedure is as follows:
1. Based on the patient's condition and clinical treatment requirements, the physician determines and adjusts the concentration, dosage, and infusion rate of albumin.
2. Before intravenous infusion, medical staff verify the patient’s personal information and the details of the infused medication, and double-check whether the patient has any history of allergies to the infused drugs.
3. Check that the packaging of the infusion set is intact. Insert the infusion tube into the bottle stopper, hang the medication bottle on the IV stand, and then expel air from the tubing.
4. Medical personnel disinfect the patient’s puncture site 2–3 times with iodophor or 75% alcohol. After the disinfectant has mostly evaporated or been wiped off with a sterile swab, perform the venipuncture.
5. Once blood return is observed during puncture, temporarily open the infusion set, secure the needle in place, release the tourniquet and flow regulator, and further stabilize the needle once albumin begins to drip smoothly.
6. Adjust the infusion valve to the appropriate drip rate and begin the infusion.
When receiving intravenous albumin therapy, patients should pay attention to controlling the infusion speed and avoid infusing too rapidly. To prevent harm to the body, it is recommended to seek treatment at a正规 hospital and undergo the procedure under the guidance of qualified medical professionals.
