Introduction
Endotoxins are closely associated with various infectious diseases. Deterioration of the condition is often accompanied by an increase in endotoxin levels, while improvement is frequently associated with a decrease in endotoxin levels. Therefore, measuring endotoxin levels in blood and organs can provide valuable reference for the diagnosis and prognosis of related clinical conditions. The procedure should be performed only by trained professionals.

Testing for endotoxin levels in blood and organs can provide reference for the diagnosis and prognosis of clinically related diseases. The procedure must be performed by trained professionals. The blood collection process is as follows:

1. Before drawing blood, healthcare providers should help ease the patient's anxiety to prevent any complications during the procedure.

2. Select a superficial vein on the body surface. Once chosen, apply a tourniquet proximal to the puncture site on the forearm, and instruct the patient to clench their fists to enhance venous filling.

3. The phlebotomist gently taps the area around the puncture site to make the vein more prominent, then disinfects the site with iodophor and alcohol.

4. After the iodophor has dried, the phlebotomist holds the needle at a 30-degree angle to the skin, inserts it into the vein, advances it approximately 2 cm parallel to the vein, and connects the needle hub to the blood collection tube.

5. After blood collection, release the tourniquet and withdraw the needle. Immediately apply a cotton swab or gauze to the puncture site and maintain pressure. Remove the swab after 3–5 minutes, once bleeding has stopped.

6. Send the collected blood sample to the laboratory for testing.
