Introduction
On the fourth day of infection with the novel coronavirus, having a fever is a normal symptom during the course of the illness. However, specific conditions may vary from person to person. It is recommended to actively follow the treatment plan advised by your doctor, through which symptoms can improve. After being infected with COVID-19, pay close attention to personal hygiene, keep indoor spaces well-ventilated, eat meals on time, increase nutritional intake, exercise appropriately, and strengthen your immune system.

On the fourth day of infection with the novel coronavirus, experiencing fever is a normal symptom during the course of the illness. However, specific conditions vary from person to person. It is recommended to actively follow the doctor's treatment plan, after which symptoms should gradually improve.

After infection with the novel coronavirus, the virus may enter the bloodstream and spread throughout the body, triggering systemic inflammation and resulting in fever. If body temperature is significantly elevated—specifically, if axillary temperature exceeds 38.5°C—patients may take medications such as ibuprofen tablets or acetaminophen (paracetamol) tablets under medical guidance. Physical cooling methods can also be used concurrently as adjunctive therapy.

Common symptoms following novel coronavirus infection include fever, cough, fatigue, muscle aches, and runny nose. If patients have poor physical health or fail to receive timely treatment, their condition may recur or progressively worsen, leading to persistent fever on the fourth day post-infection. Under a doctor’s guidance, traditional Chinese patent medicines such as Lianhua Qingwen granules, Jinhua Qinggan granules, or Huoxiang Zhengqi capsules may be used. During recovery, patients are advised to drink plenty of water to promote metabolism, keep indoor areas well-ventilated, maintain a light diet, and avoid spicy or greasy foods.

In the early stages of COVID-19 infection, body temperature typically rises rapidly and then gradually declines. Even non-febrile patients may experience some fluctuations in body temperature; febrile patients generally see their temperature return to normal within 2–3 days.

After contracting COVID-19, it is important to maintain good personal hygiene, ensure regular indoor ventilation, and avoid crowded places. If going out is necessary, wear a mask properly. Maintain regular meal times, consistent sleep patterns, adequate nutrition, and moderate exercise to strengthen immunity. Seek medical attention promptly if body temperature remains high for several consecutive days.
