Does electrotherapy really help with uterine recovery?
Electrotherapy can be beneficial for uterine recovery, particularly in promoting endometrial repair.
Electrotherapy refers to the use of various types of electric currents and electromagnetic fields to treat medical conditions. In endometrial repair, it employs bioelectric simulation technology, using low-frequency electrical stimulation on the pelvic floor. This stimulates nerves and muscle tissues, effectively improving blood circulation, enhancing blood flow to the endometrium, and gradually increasing its thickness until normal levels are restored. As a result, electrotherapy may improve pregnancy rates and provide protective benefits for the uterus.
For patients with thin endometrium, electrotherapy typically begins after menstruation ends, administered once daily, with ten sessions constituting one treatment course. Generally, after one to two courses, blood flow to the endometrium shows significant improvement. However, whether electrostimulation therapy is appropriate depends on the specific condition of endometrial damage. Mild injuries may not require treatment, as the endometrium can often recover naturally. In cases of severe endometrial damage, estrogen medication under medical supervision is usually necessary.
