Introduction
Recombinant human interferon α2b gel, also known as human interferon α2b gel, is primarily used topically or intravaginally. It is indicated for the treatment of herpes simplex and genital warts, as well as for the prevention of genital warts recurrence. Sexual intercourse should be avoided after applying the gel to prevent interference with drug efficacy. If any adverse symptoms occur during treatment, medical attention should be sought promptly.

Human interferon α2b gel, also known as recombinant human interferon α2b gel, is primarily used topically or intravaginally. It can be used to treat genital herpes and condyloma acuminatum, as well as to prevent the recurrence of condyloma acuminatum.

1. Topical application

If a patient develops condyloma acuminatum on the skin, the gel may be applied to the affected area four times daily under medical guidance. After each application, gently massage the treated area for 2–3 minutes to enhance drug absorption. Treatment should continue for up to 6 weeks for condyloma acuminatum, and for 1 week for oral or genital herpes. This treatment generally does not interfere with normal daily activities.

2. Intravaginal use

After HPV infection, if treatment is delayed, cervical epithelial lesions may develop; therefore, intravaginal administration of the medication is recommended. The patient should first clean the external genitalia and lie down in a supine position. Using a disposable gynecological applicator, an appropriate dose of the gel should be inserted deep into the vagina, then slowly dispensed. Administration is best performed before bedtime. If used during the day, it is advisable to remain lying down for about 30 minutes to one hour after administration to prevent leakage of the medication.

Avoid sexual intercourse while using recombinant human interferon α2b gel to ensure optimal efficacy. If discomfort or adverse reactions occur during treatment, seek medical advice promptly and consider switching medications or adjusting the dosage.
