Introduction
Under normal circumstances, patients can opt for the TCT test over LCT, as TCT is currently a more advanced testing technology worldwide. It can detect cervical cancer cells with a detection rate reaching up to 100%, identify precancerous lesions, and also reveal infections caused by fungi, trichomonas, or other bacteria.

Compared to LCT, TCT is more accurate and offers higher result reliability; patients can choose based on their individual circumstances.

LCT refers to liquid-based cytology testing, which primarily uses a liquid-based thin-layer cell detection system to examine cervical cells and perform cytological classification and diagnosis. It is considered a relatively advanced cervical cancer cytology screening technique. TCT, on the other hand, stands for ThinPrep (thin-layer) cytologic test, another type of cervical cancer cytology screening technology. Compared with traditional cervical smears such as the Pap smear, TCT significantly improves specimen adequacy and the detection rate of abnormal cervical cells. When comparing LCT and TCT, patients may opt for TCT, as it is currently one of the most advanced testing technologies available worldwide. TCT can detect cervical cancer cells with a detection rate reaching up to 100%, identify precancerous lesions, and also reveal infections caused by fungi, trichomonas, or other bacteria.

It should be noted that patients should avoid sexual intercourse within 24 hours before undergoing TCT testing. Additionally, vaginal douching or use of vaginal suppositories should be avoided within 24 to 48 hours prior to the test to prevent interference with test results.
