Introduction
An opened sterile package remains valid for no more than 24 hours; the shelf life of an opened sterile package is 24 hours, while the shelf life of an unopened sterile package is 7 days. There are two types of sterile instrument forceps: one preserved by soaking, which can be kept for 7 days, and the other preserved in dry conditions, which can be used for 4–6 hours. An opened sterile solution remains effective for 24 hours, and a prepared sterile field (sterile tray) remains effective for 4 hours.

A sterile package, once opened, remains valid for no more than 24 hours. The shelf life of an opened sterile package is 24 hours, while the expiration period for an unopened sterile package is 7 days. Sterile instrument forceps are stored in two ways: when submerged in disinfectant solution, they can be kept for up to 7 days; when stored dry, they may be used for 4–6 hours. An opened sterile solution remains effective for 24 hours, and a prepared sterile field (sterile tray) remains valid for 4 hours.

Before opening a sterile package, verify the package name, sterilization expiration date, check whether the chemical indicator tape has changed color, and inspect the wrapping cloth for dampness or damage. Unfasten the ties and place them under the wrapper. Open the outer flap first, then the left and right flaps, grasping the inner surfaces of the folded corners with your hands. Finally, lift the inner flap. Use sterile forceps to remove the required items and place them within the sterile area. Be careful not to touch the inner surface of the wrapper with your hands or any non-sterile objects, avoid reaching across the sterile field, and do not use any items from the package if contamination is suspected.

A sterile package refers to a surgical kit that has undergone sterilization and remains uncontaminated. It is typically used by medical personnel. Use by individuals unfamiliar with sterile techniques is not recommended, as it may lead to infection incidents.
