Introduction
In general, early signs of liver and gallbladder diseases may include changes in appetite, pain in the liver area, nail deformities, weakness, and changes in urine color. Liver and gallbladder disorders often affect bile secretion; normal bile secretion aids in digestion and nutrient absorption. When bile secretion is impaired, symptoms such as indigestion, reduced appetite, and anorexia may occur.

In general, early signs of liver and gallbladder diseases may include changes in appetite, pain in the liver area, nail deformities, weakness, changes in urine color, among others. A detailed analysis is as follows:

1. Changes in Appetite

Liver and gallbladder diseases often affect bile secretion. Normal bile secretion aids in digestion and nutrient absorption. When bile secretion is impaired, symptoms such as indigestion, reduced appetite, or anorexia may occur.

2. Liver Area Pain

In liver and gallbladder diseases, the liver may remain in a state of chronic inflammation, triggering systemic inflammatory responses. This chronic inflammation can irritate the liver, leading to pain in the liver region.

3. Nail Deformities

The liver is a vital metabolic organ in the body. Liver diseases can impair liver function, which may disrupt the normal metabolism and absorption of nutrients—such as vitamins and proteins—that are essential for healthy nail growth. This disruption may result in nail deformities or abnormal nail development.

4. Weakness

Liver and gallbladder diseases can impair the digestive system's ability to absorb nutrients from food, leading to inadequate nutritional intake. This deficiency often manifests as dizziness, low energy, mental lethargy, and generalized fatigue.

5. Changes in Urine Color

Liver and gallbladder diseases can limit the liver’s compensatory capacity, making it difficult to convert unconjugated bilirubin into conjugated bilirubin. This results in elevated levels of serum and urinary bilirubin, causing the urine to become darker yellow or deeply colored.

Besides the above, other early symptoms of liver and gallbladder diseases may include upper abdominal pain and scleral jaundice. If any discomfort or symptoms arise, it is recommended to seek timely medical evaluation and treatment to prevent disease progression.
