Foods prohibited for people with mental illness

Patients should also refrain from eating greasy, spicy, raw, or cold foods in daily life, as these items can be irritating and significantly affect the patient's mental state.
The diet of psychiatric patients should be light, nutritious, and easy to digest. Meals should be taken at regular times and in consistent amounts. Patients should eat more fresh fruits and vegetables to supplement vitamins, and minimize consumption of spicy, stimulating, fried, barbecued, and seafood products. Strong tea and coffee should be avoided. Special attention should be paid to chewing food thoroughly and eating slowly; talking during meals should be avoided, and foods that are difficult to chew or sticky in texture should be limited as much as possible.
Psychiatric patients generally need to take extra care: they should avoid intense physical exercise, maintain emotional stability, prevent excessive excitement, and avoid any form of mental stimulation, as these factors may hinder recovery and could worsen psychiatric symptoms. In daily life, moderate aerobic exercises such as walking are acceptable and beneficial. Listening to soothing music can also support disease recovery.
