Introduction
Symmetrical bumps on both eyelids may be caused by conditions such as styes, milia, or xanthelasma of the eyelid. Mild cases should be treated with medication, while severe cases are better managed with surgical or laser procedures. Additionally, other causes like chalazia can also lead to symmetrical bumps on the eyelids. Prompt treatment is necessary once symptoms appear, and attention should be paid to eye hygiene and proper eyelid care.

Symmetrical bumps appearing on both eyelids may be related to conditions such as hordeolum, milia, and xanthelasma. Mild cases may require medication, while severe cases are better treated with surgery or laser therapy.

1. Hordeolum: Prolonged eye strain or staying up late can lead to inflammatory infections in the hair follicles or sebaceous glands of the eyelid. When a hordeolum develops, it may cause symmetrical bumps accompanied by symptoms such as eye pain and swelling. In such cases, minimally invasive surgery is recommended to remove the bumps and relieve eyelid swelling.

2. Milia: Hormonal imbalances within the body can increase oil secretion, leading to clogged pores and the formation of milia. In severe cases, an unpleasant odor around the eyes may occur, along with pain. Mild cases require enhanced eye care and gentle massage to promote blood circulation. However, for severe cases, laser treatment is recommended to dissolve the trapped fat particles.

3. Xanthelasma: When lipid substances accumulate under the eyelid skin, yellowish plaques form, typically on the inner aspect of the upper eyelid. As the condition progresses, these plaques may develop into bumps. If there are no discomfort symptoms, specific treatment may not be necessary. However, for those concerned about cosmetic appearance, treatments such as surgical excision or laser therapy can effectively remove the bumps.

In addition, other causes such as chalazion may also lead to symmetrical bumps on both eyelids. Prompt treatment is essential once symptoms appear. Attention should also be paid to eye hygiene and enhanced eye care.
