Is there a cure for extensive lung infection?
Whether extensive lung infection is treatable depends on the specific circumstances—it may be curable, or it may not be.
1. Treatable
Extensive lung infection is usually caused by pneumonia due to bacterial, mycoplasma, or chlamydia infections, or by tuberculosis resulting from Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. If the patient only experiences symptoms such as chest tightness, cough, sputum production, and shortness of breath, full recovery is generally achievable with prompt and active treatment.
2. Untreatable
If the patient develops respiratory failure, lung collapse, shock, or complications such as renal insufficiency, these conditions may pose an immediate threat to life, making the situation potentially untreatable.
