Introduction
The normal range for segmented neutrophils should be between (2–7.7) × 10⁹/L. Both lower and higher levels of segmented neutrophils in the body can have certain effects on health. Pathological conditions may also cause an increase in segmented neutrophils. In addition, even when segmented neutrophil counts are within the normal range, it is important to get adequate rest, drink plenty of water, and take precautions against colds.

The normal range for neutrophil segmented granulocytes should be between (2–7.7) × 10^9/L. Both lower and higher levels of neutrophil segmented granulocytes in the human body can have certain impacts.

1. Low levels

Causes of low neutrophil segmented granulocyte counts include immune system disorders, viral infections, and abnormal bone marrow hematopoiesis. Immune system diseases can lead to reduced white blood cell counts, thereby decreasing neutrophil segmented granulocytes. Viral infections may increase lymphocyte levels, affecting the count of segmented neutrophils. When hematopoietic stem cells are damaged, bone marrow hematopoiesis is impaired, leading to suppressed blood cell production and insufficient white blood cell generation. Patients can take penicillin or white blood cell-boosting medications under a doctor's guidance.

2. High levels

Elevated neutrophil segmented granulocyte counts can result from pathological or physiological increases. Pathological increases are primarily due to viral infections; patients can take antiviral medications such as ribavirin tablets or acyclovir tablets under medical supervision. Another cause is physical trauma, such as burns or tissue injury, which can also elevate neutrophil segmented granulocyte levels. In such cases, patients may take medications like Vitamin C Yinqiao tablets or amoxicillin capsules as directed by a physician.

In addition, even when neutrophil segmented granulocyte levels are within the normal range, individuals should ensure adequate rest, drink plenty of water, and avoid catching a cold.
