How to get rid of milia around the eyes
Medically, "milia" are clinically referred to as acne. Treatment for acne near the corner of the eye can be selected according to its severity.
1. Mild cases
If the acne near the eye is small and symptoms are mild, it is recommended to apply topical medications such as tretinoin ointment, adapalene gel, or fusidic acid ointment under a doctor's guidance. These help dissolve comedones, kill Propionibacterium acnes, and improve keratinization of the follicular sebaceous duct.
2. Severe cases
For individuals who cannot tolerate or prefer not to use medications, or those with moderate-to-severe acne, photodynamic therapy or chemical peels (such as glycolic acid peels) may also be used. These treatments help eliminate Propionibacterium acnes, suppress sebaceous gland secretion, improve keratinization of the sebaceous ducts, and prevent the formation of acne scars.
