Introduction
Eye discomfort and frequent blinking may be caused by prolonged use of electronic devices, staying up late, or eye muscle tension, which can be relieved with rest. If the condition is due to dry eye syndrome causing reduced tear secretion, follow medical advice to use polyvinyl alcohol eye drops to promote tear production and lubricate the eyes. When the conjunctiva becomes inflamed due to pathogenic bacterial invasion, use levofloxacin eye drops as prescribed to suppress inflammation and improve symptoms.

Eye discomfort with a constant urge to blink may be caused by physiological factors, or pathological conditions such as dry eye syndrome and conjunctivitis. It is recommended to seek treatment based on the underlying cause.

I. Physiological Factors

Prolonged use of electronic devices or staying up late can easily lead to eye muscle tension and reduced tear production. When tears are insufficient to lubricate the eyeball completely, discomfort occurs. This condition can usually be improved by getting adequate rest or applying warm compresses to enhance local blood circulation and relieve eye discomfort.

II. Pathological Factors

1. Dry Eye Syndrome

Dry eye syndrome results from abnormal lacrimal gland function leading to decreased tear secretion, causing inadequate lubrication of the eye surface and resulting in dryness. It is recommended to develop healthy eye-use habits and, under medical guidance, apply topical medications such as polyvinyl alcohol eye drops or sodium hyaluronate eye drops to promote tear secretion and moisturize the eyes.

2. Conjunctivitis

Conjunctivitis occurs when the conjunctiva is invaded by pathogens such as viruses or bacteria, leading to inflammation. Under medical guidance, it is recommended to use antibiotic eye drops or ointments such as levofloxacin eye drops, tobramycin-dexamethasone eye drops, or erythromycin eye ointment to suppress infection and alleviate eye discomfort.

In addition, conditions such as acute glaucoma may also cause similar symptoms. It is advisable to visit a hospital for appropriate examinations and receive suitable treatment accordingly.
