Introduction
Retinal vascular occlusion may be treatable or untreatable depending on the case. For retinal vein occlusion with mild conditions, treatment following medical advice includes injections of recombinant streptokinase, aspirin tablets, and dipyridamole tablets. In severe cases, surgical intervention such as arteriovenous sheathotomy may be performed under medical guidance to treat the condition. Retinal arterial occlusion leads to the death of retinal cells, causing vision damage or even blindness, and in most cases, vision cannot be restored.

Blockage of the blood vessels in the retina may be treatable or untreatable, depending on the specific circumstances.

1. Treatable

If the blockage occurs in a retinal vein and the condition is not particularly severe, treatment under a doctor's guidance with recombinant streptokinase injections or medications such as aspirin tablets and dipyridamole tablets may help control the disease and improve symptoms. For more severe cases, arteriovenous sheathotomy performed under medical supervision may effectively cure the condition.

2. Untreatable

If the blockage affects the retinal artery, it is considered an acute, vision-threatening condition that typically leads to rapid death of retinal cells, resulting in varying degrees of vision loss or even blindness. In most patients, vision cannot return to normal levels. It is advisable to seek prompt medical treatment to preserve as much vision as possible.

If eye discomfort persists and does not resolve, timely medical evaluation at a hospital is necessary.
