How to Perform Fetal Heart Monitoring – Video
Fetal heart rate monitoring refers to the real-time monitoring of fetal heart rate changes using a fetal monitor, and assessing the condition of the fetus in the uterus by analyzing the relationship between fetal heart rate, uterine contractions, and fetal movements. This procedure must be performed at a正规 medical facility. The specific steps are as follows:
1. After entering the examination room, the pregnant woman lies flat on her back and removes any clothing covering the abdomen.
2. The doctor places the fetal monitor probe on the pregnant woman's abdomen and moves it around to locate the fetal heartbeat. Once found, the probe is secured in place with a monitoring belt.
3. Another probe is strapped to the highest point of the bulge at the top of the uterus (fundus) to measure uterine contraction pressure.
4. There is a button on the fetal monitor. When the pregnant woman feels fetal movement, she presses this button, which triggers a sound and enables the machine to automatically record the fetal movement.
5. Fetal heart rate monitoring typically lasts between 20 to 40 minutes. Upon completion, the monitor generates a fetal heart rate monitoring chart.
The test should be scheduled during the time of day when fetal movements are most active, in order to observe how the fetal heart rate responds to movements.
