Symptoms of chronic cholecystitis flare-ups
The symptoms of chronic cholecystitis attacks include abdominal pain, indigestion, gallbladder gangrene, etc. Patients should seek timely medical care after onset and choose appropriate treatment measures according to their condition.
1. Abdominal Pain
Chronic cholecystitis progresses slowly. Most patients experience abdominal pain after consuming greasy foods or overeating. The pain mainly occurs in the upper abdomen, right hypochondrium, and right back. The severity varies but tends to recur frequently.
2. Indigestion
As the disease progresses, some patients with chronic cholecystitis may develop biliary-related indigestion, mainly presenting as belching, nausea, and bloating.
3. Gallbladder Gangrene
When the condition worsens, it can lead to full-thickness necrosis of the gallbladder wall. Typically, the area of gangrene starts as small patches but may progress to extensive necrosis, causing persistent severe abdominal pain and signs of peritoneal irritation.
In addition, chronic cholecystitis may also cause other manifestations such as high fever and jaundice. Patients should rest in bed, avoid excessive fatigue, and actively cooperate with medical treatment.
