Experiencing night sweats during sleep in the late stages of pregnancy may be caused by either physiological or pathological factors.
I. Physiological Causes
During the late stages of pregnancy, excessive mental stress or heightened anxiety may lead to night sweats. It is recommended to relieve these symptoms through relaxation methods such as listening to soothing music or taking light walks.
II. Pathological Causes
1. Calcium Deficiency
As the fetus grows and develops, the body's nutritional demands increase. In the later stages of pregnancy, picky eating habits may lead to calcium deficiency, resulting in symptoms such as lower back pain, night sweats, and leg cramps. Consuming more calcium-rich foods—such as pork rib soup, milk, and black sesame seeds—can help alleviate these symptoms.
2. Anemia
Anemia in pregnant women typically results from unbalanced nutrition, insufficient iron intake, or poor iron absorption. Besides night sweats, anemia may also cause dizziness and general weakness. Treatment may include medications such as mecobalamin tablets, ferrous dextran dispersible tablets, or ferrous sulfate folic acid tablets, which are prescribed to improve blood levels. These medications should be taken under medical supervision.
In addition to the above causes, low blood pressure or other conditions could also be responsible. A hospital evaluation is necessary to determine the exact cause and receive appropriate treatment.
