Introduction
Intermittent stabbing pain below the right armpit in the breast area may be caused by trauma, pleurisy, or mammary gland hyperplasia. When the area below the right armpit of the breast suffers external compression or impact, it may result in soft tissue injury or rib fracture. During treatment, adequate rest is recommended, and emotional fluctuations should be minimized to prevent worsening of the condition.

A stabbing pain in the right armpit area below the breast may be caused by trauma, pleurisy, mammary gland hyperplasia, or other reasons.

1. Trauma

When the area under the right armpit below the breast suffers external compression or impact, it may cause soft tissue injury or rib fractures, resulting in a stabbing pain. The pain may become more severe during physical activity and may be accompanied by local bruising or skin damage. Applying heat therapy can help alleviate symptoms.

2. Pleurisy

Pleurisy refers to an inflammation occurring in the pleural cavity, characterized by chest pain, coughing, and fever. Sometimes, the pain may radiate to the area beneath the armpit. Under medical guidance, medications such as cefixime tablets, cephalosporin tablets, or penicillin capsules can be taken to reduce inflammation and improve the condition.

3. Mammary Gland Hyperplasia

Mammary gland hyperplasia is a common benign breast condition, presenting symptoms such as breast nodules, lumps, and pain. Under a doctor's supervision, medications like Rujiling capsules or Xiaoyao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) can be used for treatment. These drugs have effects of promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis and clearing heat to detoxify.

Besides the above-mentioned causes, the pain could also result from conditions such as breast tumors. During treatment, adequate rest is recommended, and large emotional fluctuations should be avoided to prevent worsening of the condition.
