Introduction
Symptoms of chest wall recurrence after total mastectomy for breast cancer include persistent pain, lymph node enlargement, and changes in the skin of the chest wall. When breast cancer recurs at the chest wall, it may metastasize to sites such as bones, joints, and internal organs. The chest wall skin may develop swollen, red, rash-like lesions, and hard masses may also be present. In addition to these symptoms, the breast area may become firm and nipple retraction may occur.
Breast cancer recurrence on the chest wall after total mastectomy may present symptoms such as persistent pain, lymph node swelling, and changes in the chest wall skin.
1. Persistent Pain
When breast cancer recurs on the chest wall, it may metastasize to sites such as bones, joints, and internal organs, causing persistent pain in various parts of the body and joints. Symptoms often worsen with physical activity or coughing.
2. Lymph Node Swelling
Swelling of lymph nodes may occur in areas such as the armpit, chest wall, collarbone, or breast region, which could indicate regional recurrence of breast cancer.
3. Changes in Chest Wall Skin
The skin over the chest wall may develop swollen, red, rash-like lesions, and may also be accompanied by firm, hard masses.
