Is allergic asthma a pre-existing condition?
Allergic asthma is generally not considered a fundamental (underlying) disease.
Allergic asthma is a relatively stubborn condition. Most patients have allergies or allergic rhinitis, and may experience symptoms such as sneezing, itchy nose, and tearing. If not treated promptly, it could potentially last a lifetime. In clinical practice, fundamental diseases typically refer to chronic conditions requiring long-term medication, including basic metabolic disorders such as endocrine imbalances and diabetes; immune deficiencies such as HIV/AIDS; and major chronic wasting diseases such as malignant tumors. Allergic asthma is a condition caused by an individual's own constitution and therefore is not classified as a fundamental disease.
Patients with allergic asthma are advised to seek timely medical consultation, follow medical guidance for treatment, and control the progression of the disease.
