Indications and functions of erythromycin enteric-coated tablets
Erythromycin enteric-coated tablets primarily have antibacterial effects and belong to the macrolide class.
Erythromycin enteric-coated tablets exhibit strong antibacterial activity and are commonly used to treat various inflammatory infections, such as tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and sinusitis, providing effective therapeutic results. They are also used for treating infections of the respiratory and urinary systems. However, erythromycin may irritate the gastrointestinal tract, potentially causing nausea and vomiting after use. Patients with poor gastrointestinal function are advised to take the medication after meals.
Patients with a known allergy to erythromycin should not use this medication. It is also contraindicated in patients with dry diseases. In individuals with cirrhosis or liver failure, its use may cause liver damage. If severe nausea or vomiting occurs after taking the drug, dosage adjustments are necessary, and excessive use should be avoided to prevent bodily discomfort.
In addition, during treatment, it is advisable to maintain a light diet and avoid spicy and greasy foods.
