Introduction
Nasal hair turning white may not necessarily be caused by disease, but could also result from drug side effects, vitiligo, or other medical conditions. As people age, melanin in the body gradually decreases, leading to whitening of scalp hair and body hair, including nasal hair. This is a normal part of aging and typically does not require special treatment. It is recommended to consume more foods rich in tyrosine and minerals.

Nasal hair turning white may not necessarily be caused by disease, but could also result from medication side effects, vitiligo, or other medical conditions. The specific causes are analyzed as follows:

1. Non-disease Causes

As people age, melanin in the body gradually decreases, leading to whitening of hair and body hair—including nasal hair. This is a normal part of aging and generally does not require special treatment. It is recommended to consume more foods rich in tyrosine and minerals, such as lean pork, animal liver, eggs, dairy products, and soy-based foods, to achieve balanced nutrition and improve blood circulation.

2. Disease-related Causes

1) Medication Side Effects

Certain medications, particularly catecholamine-related drugs, may affect blood circulation and cause endocrine disorders, potentially leading to whitening of nasal hair. Oral supplements such as vitamin B complex tablets or folic acid tablets may help. Vitamin supplementation should be carried out under a doctor's guidance.

2) Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a pigmentary disorder of unknown cause. When it affects the skin or mucous membranes of the nose, it can lead to whitening of nasal hair. Treatment under medical supervision may include topical medications such as halometasone ointment or compound flumetasone ointment.

In addition, albinism could also be a cause. If accompanied by other symptoms—such as whitening of scalp hair, eyebrows, or eyelashes—or other abnormalities like hair loss or skin itching—it is advisable to seek timely medical evaluation for proper diagnosis and treatment.
