Introduction
Breast nodules can be self-examined through visual inspection, palpation, compression, comparative examination, and regular monitoring. It is advisable to establish a routine of performing breast self-examinations at the same time each month. Consistently conducting self-examinations helps you become familiar with your breasts and detect potential problems early.

Breast nodules can be self-examined through visual inspection, tactile examination, compression testing, comparative assessment, and regular monitoring.

1. Visual inspection: Stand in front of a mirror and carefully observe the appearance and symmetry of your breasts. Look for any changes such as skin abnormalities, redness, swelling, dimpling, bulging, wrinkles, or nipple irregularities.

2. Tactile examination: Gently feel and touch the breast tissue using your fingers. Examine different areas by using a flat palm or fingertips to systematically check the entire breast tissue—including the area around the areola, upper and lower sections, sides, and armpit regions—with light pressure or circular motions. Feel for any detectable lumps, nodules, hardness, swelling, or other unusual sensations.

3. Compression examination: Use your fingers to gently press each area of the breast to check whether there is any discharge or secretion from the nipple.

4. Comparative examination: During each self-exam, compare your findings with those from previous exams to identify any new changes or abnormalities. This helps in detecting potential problems early.

5. Regular examination: Establish a routine of performing breast self-exams regularly, ideally at the same time each month. Consistent self-monitoring helps you become familiar with your breasts and enables early detection of possible issues.

If you notice any abnormalities such as lumps, pain, distortion, or discharge, consult a doctor promptly for further evaluation and examination.
