Introduction
Digoxin and metoprolol are generally not recommended for concomitant use. Digoxin is a cardiac stimulant that can alleviate rapid heart rate. Metoprolol belongs to the class of beta-adrenergic receptor blockers, which can slow the heart rate in patients with fast arrhythmias. When used together, they may excessively suppress myocardial function, leading to a significant decrease in heart rate and resulting in bradycardia.

Betaloc refers to metoprolol. Digoxin and metoprolol are generally not recommended for combined use; it is advisable to consult a doctor before taking them routinely.

Digoxin is a cardiac glycoside primarily used to improve acute and chronic heart failure and rapid ventricular rate, helping alleviate symptoms of fast heart rate. Metoprolol belongs to the class of β-adrenergic receptor blockers and acts by inhibiting sympathetic nervous system activity, thereby slowing the heart rate in patients with tachyarrhythmias. When used together, these medications may excessively suppress myocardial function, leading to a significant decrease in heart rate (bradycardia), potentially causing symptoms such as chest tightness and difficulty breathing.

If experiencing any cardiac discomfort, prompt medical evaluation and proper treatment are recommended; avoid taking unguided or self-directed measures.
