For healthy individuals, moderate consumption can help supplement essential nutrients and benefit overall health. However, for patients with high uric acid levels, eating black fish may lead to a continuous increase in uric acid, raising the risk of gout; therefore, it is not recommended for such individuals.

The purine content in snakehead fish is generally quite high, so it is not recommended for patients with high uric acid levels to consume it.

Snakehead fish contains abundant nutrients such as protein and vitamins. Every 100 grams of snakehead fish contains 75–150 mg of purines, which is considered a relatively high amount. For healthy individuals, moderate consumption can help supplement essential nutrients and support overall health. However, for patients with elevated uric acid levels, eating snakehead fish may easily cause uric acid levels to rise further. This can lead to the deposition of uric acid crystals in the joints, increasing the risk of gout and causing symptoms such as redness, swelling, and pain. Therefore, it is not advisable for individuals with high uric acid to eat this fish.

Patients with high uric acid levels should avoid foods high in purines in daily life to prevent persistent elevation of uric acid and adverse effects on disease recovery.
