Introduction
Papules may be caused by physiological factors, or by conditions such as keratosis pilaris, skin allergies, and eczema. If numerous small red spots appear on the skin, it is important to seek timely medical examination at a hospital. Once diagnosed as papules, treatment should be carried out under a doctor's guidance using an appropriate approach. After treatment, maintaining good skin hygiene is essential, including regularly washing and changing clothes.

Papules may be caused by physiological factors, or by conditions such as keratosis pilaris and skin allergies. The details are as follows:

1. Physiological Factors

Papules may result from unhealthy lifestyle habits, such as frequent smoking and drinking, or poor personal hygiene, including infrequent changing and washing of clothes. If a person lives in an environment with many insects, bites from mosquitoes or other bugs could also be responsible. After insect bites, toxic substances in the insect's saliva can irritate the local skin, leading to papular urticaria or inflammatory papules. These often cause localized itching but usually resolve spontaneously.

2. Pathological Factors

1. Keratosis Pilaris

In patients with keratosis pilaris, epidermal cells exhibit abnormal keratinization, resulting in relative thickening of the stratum corneum. This leads to follicular hyperkeratosis and the formation of keratotic papules. Affected areas may feel rough and thickened, become dry, and are often accompanied by scaling, enlarged pores, and itching.

2. Skin Allergy

If a person has sensitive or allergic skin, exposure to certain allergens can trigger an allergic reaction, causing a localized hypersensitivity response. This releases various inflammatory mediators, which stimulate the skin and lead to inflammatory papules. These papules are typically the size of millet or rice grains and may be accompanied by itching.

Besides the above, conditions such as eczema may also cause papules. If numerous small red spots appear on the skin, it is important to promptly visit a hospital for evaluation. Once diagnosed with papules, appropriate treatment should be carried out under medical guidance. Additionally, maintaining good skin hygiene and regularly changing and washing clothes are essential during and after treatment.
