In general, meningioma surgery includes total tumor resection and subtotal tumor resection. The specific analysis is as follows:
1. Total Tumor Resection
After further examination confirms that the tumor is localized and located in a non-functional area of the brain, total tumor resection is usually performed. Completely removing the tumor through surgery helps promote recovery.
2. Subtotal Tumor Resection
If the tumor is large and located close to critical brain structures or blood vessels, complete surgical removal may not be feasible. In such cases, subtotal tumor resection is performed to help control the disease progression.
