Introduction
Fluconazole capsules are an antifungal medication. Clinically, they can be used to treat cryptococcal meningitis, coccidioidomycosis, invasive candidiasis, and mucosal candidiasis in adult patients. They are also indicated for the prevention of Candida infections in immunocompromised patients, as well as for preventing recurrence of cryptococcal meningitis in pediatric patients who are at high risk of relapse.

Fluconazole capsules are an antifungal medication primarily used to combat fungal infections. They should be used appropriately under medical guidance and are suitable only for individuals aged 14 years and older. Specific details are as follows:

Fluconazole capsules are in the form of capsules containing white or nearly white powder. The drug mainly works by inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol in the fungal cell membrane, thereby suppressing fungal growth and reproduction. Clinically, it is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with cryptococcal meningitis, coccidioidomycosis, invasive candidiasis, and mucosal candidiasis. It can also be used to prevent Candida infections in immunocompromised patients and to prevent recurrence of cryptococcal meningitis in pediatric patients who are at high risk of relapse.

When using this medication, note that it is contraindicated in individuals allergic to any of its active ingredients to avoid allergic reactions. Patients with hepatic or renal impairment should use it with caution. It should not be used during the first trimester of pregnancy, and breastfeeding should be suspended during treatment in lactating women. Additionally, fluconazole must not be co-administered with drugs such as cisapride tablets, terfenadine tablets, or astemizole tablets, as this may lead to adverse drug interactions.
