Introduction
A slightly low level of gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) usually has no clinical significance and is generally not serious. GGT is primarily found in the kidneys and liver. Clinically, GGT testing is used in the diagnosis of liver diseases. If a decreased GGT level is observed during examination but the individual has no other abnormalities, it is typically considered to have no clinical significance.

GGT refers to gamma-glutamyl transferase. A slightly low level of gamma-glutamyl transferase usually has no clinical significance and is generally not serious. The specific analysis is as follows:
Gamma-glutamyl transferase is primarily present in the kidneys and liver, with relatively small amounts found in the bloodstream. Clinically, testing for gamma-glutamyl transferase levels can aid in the diagnosis of liver diseases. If a test reveals lower-than-normal gamma-glutamyl transferase levels but the individual shows no other abnormalities, this typically lacks clinical significance. Maintaining a balanced diet with adequate nutrition is sufficient; one should avoid picky or selective eating. However, if gamma-glutamyl transferase levels are abnormally elevated during testing, it may indicate inflammatory conditions affecting the liver, such as drug-induced injury, bile duct obstruction, or pancreatitis. Further evaluations—such as imaging studies or viral serological tests—are needed to determine the underlying cause of the elevated enzyme levels and guide appropriate treatment.
It is recommended to maintain regular sleep patterns, emotional stability, routinely ventilate indoor spaces by opening windows, practice good personal hygiene, and avoid excessive fatigue. If any abnormal symptoms occur, seek medical attention at a hospital promptly.
