Ventilator Heat and Moisture Exchanger (Artificial Nose) Usage Instructions
Generally, an artificial nose is a medical device made of medical-grade polymer materials, designed to resemble a natural human nose in shape, color, and softness. The specific operating procedures are as follows:
1. Prepare the artificial nose and inspect the packaging for any damage or air leaks.
2. Place the artificial nose between the tracheal tube and the Y-piece of the ventilator circuit.
3. Administer oxygen as clinically required.
4. Replace every 24 hours, or immediately if contaminated. It is for single use only and should be destroyed after use.
Artificial noses are primarily used in clinical settings to filter anesthetic gases or respiratory gases for patients. Do not use if package damage or leakage is detected. Consult a physician before use and follow medical guidance during operation.
