Introduction
Passing mucus from the vagina during bowel movements may be caused by trichomoniasis, cervicitis, bacterial vaginosis, or similar conditions. Trichomoniasis is usually a vaginal inflammatory condition caused by infection with Trichomonas vaginalis. Under the invasion of Trichomonas vaginalis, the vaginal mucosa produces excessive secretions, leading to the discharge of mucus from the vagina during defecation. Treatment with metronidazole suppositories should be carried out as directed by a physician.

Passing mucus from the vagina during bowel movements may be caused by trichomoniasis, cervicitis, bacterial vaginosis, and other conditions. The details are as follows:

1. Trichomoniasis

Trichomoniasis is typically a vaginal inflammatory condition caused by infection with Trichomonas vaginalis. Under invasion by this parasite, the vaginal mucosa produces excessive secretions, leading to the phenomenon of mucus discharge from the vagina during defecation. Treatment may include medications such as metronidazole suppositories or tinidazole suppositories, used according to medical advice.

2. Cervicitis

Cervicitis may be triggered by vaginal dysbiosis, pathogen infection, or chemical irritation. Under stimulation from these factors, the cervical canal mucosa may produce increased secretions, bleeding, and other symptoms, resulting in the aforementioned condition. Medications such as levofloxacin hydrochloride capsules or azithromycin dry suspension may be prescribed under medical guidance.

3. Bacterial Vaginosis

Infection with anaerobic and aerobic bacteria is a primary cause of bacterial vaginosis. When the normal microbial balance in the vagina is disrupted, the vagina's ability to resist external pathogens decreases, potentially leading to this symptom. Treatment may involve medications such as ceftriaxone sodium for injection or cefixime capsules, as directed by a physician.

In addition, passing mucus from the vagina during bowel movements could also be due to endometritis, atrophic vaginitis, cervical cancer, or other conditions. It is recommended to avoid spicy and irritating foods during treatment.
