Introduction
Intermittent diarrhea with mucous and bloody stools may be associated with factors such as acute gastroenteritis, colitis, and ulcerative colitis. Treatment can be carried out through daily care and oral medications. If food contaminated with bacteria is consumed, the bacteria may enter the body and irritate the gastrointestinal mucosa, leading to acute inflammatory infection of the gastrointestinal tract.

Intermittent diarrhea with mucous and bloody stools may be associated with factors such as acute gastroenteritis, colitis, and ulcerative colitis. Treatment can be carried out through daily care and oral medications. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Acute Gastroenteritis

If food contaminated by bacteria is consumed, the bacteria may enter the body along with the food and irritate the gastrointestinal mucosa, leading to acute inflammatory infection of the gastrointestinal tract. Clinically, symptoms such as diarrhea and pus-containing bloody stools may appear. Medications such as smectite powder or loperamide hydrochloride capsules may be used under medical guidance for treatment.

2. Colitis

Improper diet may lead to intestinal flora imbalance, thereby causing inflammatory infection of the colon. Clinical manifestations include mucous bloody stools, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Medications such as mesalazine enteric-coated tablets or olsalazine sodium capsules may be used under medical supervision for treatment.

3. Ulcerative Colitis

The exact cause of ulcerative colitis remains unclear, but it is generally believed to be related to environmental, genetic, and intestinal microecological factors. Clinically, patients may present with mucous and purulent bloody stools, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Treatments may include prednisone acetate tablets or dexamethasone tablets, used under a doctor's guidance.

In addition to the above relatively common causes, mucous bloody diarrhea may also be related to factors such as colorectal polyps, bacterial dysentery, and Crohn’s disease. It is important to seek timely medical evaluation and undergo appropriate diagnostic tests, followed by treatment according to medical advice.
