Introduction
Clinically, pharyngonasal laryngitis refers to nasopharyngitis. Patients with nasopharyngitis typically present symptoms such as dryness in the nasal cavity, increased nasal secretions, nasal congestion, headache, and cough. It is recommended that patients seek timely medical attention at a hospital and receive standardized treatment under a doctor's guidance to avoid delaying the condition. During treatment, drinking plenty of water can help moisten the throat and alleviate discomfort such as dryness and sore throat.

Clinically, pharyngolaryngitis refers to nasopharyngitis. Patients with nasopharyngitis typically experience symptoms such as nasal dryness, increased nasal discharge, nasal congestion, headache, and cough.

  1. Nasal Dryness

After bacterial infection, the mucous membranes of the nasopharynx are irritated, triggering an inflammatory response accompanied by congestion and edema. This leads to reduced secretory function of the nasal glands, resulting in nasal dryness.

  2. Increased Nasal Discharge

Following infection of the nasopharynx by pathogens such as viruses or bacteria, inflammation damages the nasal mucosa and tissues, causing excessive mucus secretion and thus increased nasal discharge.

  3. Nasal Congestion

When the nasopharynx is affected by inflammation, swelling of the nasal mucosa occurs, leading to turbinate hypertrophy. This narrows the airway, and when secretions accumulate locally, nasal congestion easily develops.

  4. Headache

Chronic nasopharyngitis may affect brain nerve function, causing inflammatory changes in neural tissues and resulting in neurogenic headaches.

  5. Cough

Increased nasal secretions may flow backward into the throat, irritating the pharyngeal mucosa and causing symptoms such as dryness, itching, and a foreign body sensation in the throat, which can trigger coughing.

Patients are advised to seek timely medical evaluation and follow standardized treatment under a physician's guidance to avoid disease progression. During treatment, drinking plenty of water can help keep the throat moist and alleviate discomfort such as dryness and sore throat.
