Introduction
For external anal lumps, potassium permanganate sitz baths can be used for treatment. Add an appropriate amount of potassium permanganate to a basin containing boiled water, allowing the water temperature to cool down to 40°C first. Position the anus over the potassium permanganate solution to allow steam fumigation, then immerse the anal area into the solution for a sitz bath. It is recommended to perform this procedure under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional.

In general, external anal skin tags can be treated with potassium permanganate sitz baths, which help alleviate symptoms. The specific procedure is as follows:

1. Empty your bladder before the sitz bath and clean the anal area thoroughly.

2. Prepare a clean basin and towel, and sterilize them by rinsing with boiling water.

3. Pour an appropriate amount of boiled water into the basin. When the water temperature drops to around 40°C, add potassium permanganate and prepare the solution at a dilution ratio of 1:5000.

4. Position the anus over the potassium permanganate solution to allow steam fumigation. Typically, fumigate for about 5 minutes.

5. After fumigation, immerse the anus in the potassium permanganate solution for a sitz bath, lasting approximately 5 minutes.

6. After the sitz bath, gently dry the perianal skin with a cotton towel and put on clean clothes.

To avoid potential injury from improper use, it is recommended to perform this procedure under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional. Additionally, maintain healthy daily habits and avoid consuming spicy or irritating foods, which may hinder recovery.
