Introduction
Gallstones may be caused by factors such as an unbalanced diet, obesity, lack of physical activity, cholecystitis, and diabetes, and can be improved according to individual circumstances. It is recommended to seek timely medical attention at a hospital and receive treatment under the guidance of a doctor. Adjust your diet by reducing intake of high-cholesterol and high-fat foods, and increase consumption of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and other foods rich in dietary fiber.

Gallstones may be caused by factors such as unbalanced diet, obesity, lack of physical activity, cholecystitis, and diabetes. These conditions can be improved depending on the individual situation. It is recommended to seek timely medical attention at a hospital and receive treatment under the guidance of a healthcare professional.

1. Unbalanced Diet

A long-term diet high in cholesterol and fat—such as excessive consumption of organ meats and fried foods—can lead to elevated cholesterol levels in bile, increasing the risk of cholesterol crystallization and stone formation. Adjusting dietary habits by reducing intake of high-cholesterol and high-fat foods, while increasing consumption of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and other fiber-rich foods, can help reduce this risk.

2. Obesity

Individuals with obesity often have abnormal cholesterol metabolism. The liver produces bile with higher cholesterol content, and insulin resistance commonly seen in obesity can impair gallbladder contraction, leading to poor bile drainage and increased risk of gallstone formation. Weight management through balanced nutrition and regular physical activity is recommended, including aerobic exercises such as brisk walking, jogging, or swimming.

3. Lack of Physical Activity

Prolonged inactivity slows overall metabolism and weakens gallbladder contraction, delaying bile emptying and promoting bile stasis, which increases the likelihood of gallstone development. Establishing a routine of regular exercise tailored to individual capacity—such as walking, yoga, or aerobics—for at least 30 minutes daily can promote bile excretion and lower risk.

4. Cholecystitis

Cholecystitis damages the gallbladder mucosa and disrupts normal gallbladder function, causing imbalances in bile composition and facilitating the precipitation of substances like cholesterol into stones. Under medical supervision, medications such as Xiaoyan Lidan Pian (anti-inflammatory and bile-promoting tablets), Danningshuan Pian, or Jindan Pian may be used to alleviate symptoms.

5. Diabetes

Patients with diabetes often suffer from metabolic disturbances. Imbalances in bile acids and total cholesterol levels can easily lead to gallstone formation. Treatment may include medications such as metformin hydrochloride tablets, acarbose tablets, or rosiglitazone hydrochloride tablets, taken as prescribed by a physician.

In daily life, patients are advised to maintain a balanced diet, ensure adequate sleep, and avoid excessive fatigue.
