Introduction
Under normal circumstances, bladder spasms during bladder irrigation may be caused by excessive intravesical pressure, inappropriate choice of irrigating solution, unsuitable temperature of the irrigating solution, irritation from the urinary catheter or balloon, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and other reasons. It is recommended to seek medical attention promptly, identify the underlying cause, and then improve symptoms through general management, medication, or other treatments under a doctor's guidance.

Under normal circumstances, bladder spasms during bladder irrigation may be caused by excessive pressure within the bladder, inappropriate choice of irrigating solution, unsuitable irrigation fluid temperature, irritation from the urinary catheter or balloon, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and other factors. It is recommended to seek medical attention promptly, identify the underlying cause, and then improve symptoms under a doctor's guidance through general management, medication, and other treatments. The specific analysis is as follows:

1. Excessive bladder pressure: During bladder irrigation, the inflow of irrigation fluid increases pressure inside the bladder, potentially triggering bladder spasms. Adjusting the speed and volume of the irrigation fluid is necessary to avoid injecting too quickly or in excessive amounts.

2. Inappropriate irrigating solution: Different irrigation solutions vary in their degree of irritation to the bladder. Choosing an unsuitable solution may increase the likelihood of bladder spasms. An appropriate irrigation solution should be selected, avoiding those that may irritate the bladder.

3. Unsuitable irrigation fluid temperature: If the temperature of the irrigation fluid is too low or too high, it may stimulate the bladder wall and induce spasms. The fluid temperature should be adjusted to a suitable range, ideally close to body temperature.

4. Catheter or balloon irritation: During irrigation, irritation caused by the urinary catheter or balloon inside the bladder may also lead to spasms. Minimizing the duration of catheter use and avoiding unnecessary irritation is recommended.

5. Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH): BPH may be related to age, lifestyle, and other factors. In patients with BPH, bladder irrigation can easily cause irritation, potentially triggering bladder spasms. Symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and increased nocturia may also occur. Treatment may include medications such as tamsulosin hydrochloride sustained-release capsules, Qianlieshutong capsules, or Longbishu capsules, as prescribed by a physician.

When experiencing bladder spasms, try to relax the body, especially the abdominal and pelvic muscles. Deep breathing and meditation may also help reduce spasms. Adequate rest should be maintained, and overexertion avoided to promote recovery.
