Introduction
Nosebleeds are usually caused by factors such as medication side effects, trauma, heatiness (internal heat), atrophic rhinitis, or hemophilia. Immediate medical attention is recommended to prevent the condition from worsening. In particular, oral or topical anticoagulant medications may cause dilation and fragility of blood vessels in the nasal mucosa, leading to nosebleeds. It is advisable to adjust the dosage under a doctor's guidance.
Nosebleeds may typically be caused by medication side effects, trauma, internal heat ("shang huo"), atrophic rhinitis, hemophilia, or other reasons. Immediate medical attention is recommended to prevent the condition from worsening. Specific causes are analyzed as follows:
1. Medication side effects: Particularly oral or topical anticoagulant medications, which may cause nasal mucosal blood vessel dilation and fragility, leading to nosebleeds. It is recommended to adjust the dosage under a doctor's guidance.
2. Trauma: When the nose experiences impact, blows, or vigorous friction, it may damage the nasal mucosa or blood vessels, resulting in nosebleeds. This situation is usually related to external injury. Prompt medical care for disinfection and hemostasis is necessary.

4. Atrophic rhinitis: A chronic nasal condition characterized by atrophy and thinning of the nasal mucosa and nasal tissues. Due to damaged nasal mucosa, blood vessels within the nasal cavity may become fragile and prone to bleeding. Under a doctor’s guidance, medications such as Xiangju Capsules, Qianbai Rhinitis Tablets, or Amoxicillin Capsules may help relieve discomfort.
5. Hemophilia: A hereditary bleeding disorder in which patients lack clotting factors, resulting in reduced blood coagulation ability and a tendency to bleed, including nosebleeds. This condition is generally related to abnormalities in the blood coagulation mechanism. Following medical advice, medications such as Dabigatran Etexilate Capsules, Enoxaparin Sodium Injection, or Apixaban Tablets may help manage symptoms.
In daily life, avoid tobacco smoke, harmful chemical gases, and other irritants to prevent worsening nasal discomfort.
