How to self-check whether it's an ectopic pregnancy or intrauterine pregnancy
Ectopic pregnancy usually refers to a pregnancy occurring outside the uterus, while intrauterine pregnancy typically refers to a normal pregnancy. In general, neither ectopic nor normal pregnancy can be self-diagnosed; they can be identified through tests such as progesterone testing, pregnancy test strips, HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) testing, ultrasound examination, and aspiration (puncture) testing. If any discomfort occurs, it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly. Specific analyses are as follows:
1. Progesterone testing: Progesterone is a hormone in the female body. Testing progesterone levels can help determine whether a pregnancy is ectopic or normal. Low progesterone levels may indicate an ectopic pregnancy, whereas higher levels may suggest a normal pregnancy.
2. Early pregnancy test strip: After implantation of the fertilized egg, using first-morning urine for a pregnancy test strip can provide results. If two distinct lines appear on the test strip, it may indicate a normal pregnancy. If one line is dark and the other faint, it could suggest an ectopic pregnancy.
3. HCG testing: HCG testing can help differentiate between ectopic and normal pregnancy. Rising HCG levels typically indicate a normal pregnancy, whereas stagnant or declining HCG levels may indicate an ectopic pregnancy.
4. Ultrasound examination: In early pregnancy, ultrasound can detect the location of the gestational sac and fetal heartbeat. If the gestational sac is located within the uterine cavity, it likely indicates a normal pregnancy. If the sac is found outside the uterine cavity, it may indicate an ectopic pregnancy.
5. Aspiration (puncture) testing: If there is internal bleeding in the abdominal cavity, aspiration testing can help determine whether the pregnancy is ectopic or normal. Ectopic pregnancies may cause rupture of surrounding tissues, which does not occur in normal pregnancies.
Maintain healthy sleep and dietary habits. Avoid consuming spicy and irritating foods such as Sichuan pepper, chili peppers, and garlic to prevent unnecessary harm to the body.
