Introduction
Dry eyes may be caused by factors such as dry environments, wearing contact lenses, conjunctivitis, dry eye syndrome, diabetes, and others. To prevent this condition, maintain indoor humidity, carefully select contact lenses and regularly replace lens solution, practice good eye hygiene, and avoid prolonged eye strain. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor for professional treatment advice.

Under normal circumstances, dry eyes may be caused by factors such as dry environments, wearing contact lenses, conjunctivitis, dry eye syndrome, or diabetes. If discomfort occurs, it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Dry Environment

Low humidity in the environment can accelerate tear evaporation, leaving the eyes insufficiently lubricated and leading to dryness, sometimes accompanied by mild stinging. Using a humidifier to increase indoor humidity, taking regular breaks, and avoiding prolonged eye use are recommended.

2. Wearing Contact Lenses

Contact lenses cover the surface of the eye and may interfere with the eye's natural lubrication process, causing dryness, sometimes accompanied by a foreign body sensation, redness, or swelling. No special treatment is usually required; selecting contact lenses suitable for one's eyes and regularly replacing both lenses and lens solution are advised.

3. Conjunctivitis

The conjunctiva is a thin membrane covering the surface of the eye and inner eyelids. When infected or affected by allergies, conjunctivitis can develop, causing dry eyes and sometimes increased eye discharge. Under a doctor’s guidance, medications such as levofloxacin hydrochloride eye drops, tobramycin eye drops, or sodium cromoglicate eye drops may be used for treatment.

4. Dry Eye Syndrome

This is a common eye condition in which insufficient tear production or excessive tear evaporation leads to inadequate eye lubrication, resulting in dryness, burning sensations, pain, and other symptoms. It is recommended to follow medical advice and use medications such as sodium hyaluronate eye drops, fluorometholone eye drops, or vitamin A palmitate ophthalmic gel.

5. Diabetes

Chronic high blood sugar levels can damage nerves and blood vessels in the retina, affecting tear secretion and normal eye function, leading to dry eyes, blurred vision, and other symptoms. Follow your doctor's recommendations and use medications such as metformin hydrochloride tablets, gliclazide tablets, or repaglinide tablets to control blood glucose levels.

To relieve and prevent dry eyes, maintain appropriate indoor humidity, avoid prolonged wear of contact lenses, practice good eye hygiene and rest, and avoid overusing the eyes.
