Introduction
One month after IUD insertion, most patients will have recovered well. If there is no postoperative secondary infection and no vaginal bleeding or other discomfort, intercourse may be considered. However, for some patients with poorer physical conditions who experience inadequate cervical healing or other symptoms of discomfort, the period of abstaining from intercourse should be extended until full recovery is achieved.

Inserting an intrauterine device (IUD), commonly known as "getting a ring," is a widely used long-term contraceptive method among women of childbearing age. In most cases, if a woman is feeling well one month after IUD insertion and has no discomfort or adverse symptoms, she may consider resuming sexual intercourse.

After IUD placement, it is generally recommended to avoid sexual activity for a short period to allow sufficient recovery of the endometrium and cervix. By one month post-procedure, most patients have recovered well. If there is no secondary infection, vaginal bleeding, or other discomfort following the procedure, resuming sexual intercourse can be considered.

However, for some patients with weaker constitutions who experience poor cervical healing or other persistent symptoms, the period of abstaining from sex may need to be extended until full recovery is achieved.

After IUD insertion, patients should get adequate rest and avoid excessive fatigue and staying up late. They should maintain a light diet, avoid smoking, alcohol, and spicy foods, and pay attention to personal hygiene to prevent infections.
