Introduction
In general, "medical abortion" refers to terminating a pregnancy with medication. If one's physical condition is good after a medical abortion, it is usually not necessary to undergo postpartum confinement (sitting the month). However, if the body is weak following the procedure, postpartum confinement is recommended. It is advised to ensure adequate rest, engage in appropriate physical activity, increase nutritional intake, maintain external genital hygiene, and keep a relaxed and positive mindset after a medical abortion.

Generally speaking, "medical abortion" refers to terminating a pregnancy using medication. If a woman is in good health after a medical abortion, she usually does not need to undergo postpartum confinement (commonly known as "sitting the month"). However, if she experiences physical weakness following the procedure, postpartum confinement may be necessary.

Compared to natural childbirth, medical abortion has a relatively smaller impact on the body. If a woman recovers well after the procedure and does not develop obvious complications, she does not need to strictly limit her activities as traditionally required during postpartum confinement—such as prolonged bed rest, excessive dietary restrictions, or over-bundling for warmth.

Nevertheless, medical abortion still causes a certain degree of physical trauma, including shedding and subsequent healing of the endometrium. The body may become relatively weak, or complications such as heavy bleeding or infection may occur. In such cases, adequate rest and recovery are particularly important. It is essential to get proper rest, avoid overexertion, and refrain from exposure to cold substances to promote healing.

It is recommended that women ensure sufficient rest, engage in moderate activity, increase nutritional intake, maintain external genital hygiene, and keep a relaxed and positive mindset after a medical abortion.
