What are the early symptoms of pregnancy?
In general, early pregnancy may present symptoms such as amenorrhea, fatigue and drowsiness, nausea and vomiting, frequent urination, and breast changes.
1. Amenorrhea: In early pregnancy, the ovaries stop releasing eggs and the endometrium no longer sheds cyclically, thus leading to the cessation of menstruation.
2. Fatigue and drowsiness: During early pregnancy, hormone levels in a woman's body change significantly, placing the body in a relatively relaxed state, which can easily lead to fatigue.
3. Nausea and vomiting: In early pregnancy, the level of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) rises rapidly, which may irritate the gastrointestinal tract, slow gastrointestinal motility, prolong gastric emptying time, and thereby cause nausea, vomiting, and other early pregnancy reactions.
4. Frequent urination: In early pregnancy, the uterus gradually enlarges and compresses the bladder within the pelvic cavity, reducing bladder capacity and thus causing frequent urination.
5. Breast changes: In early pregnancy, elevated levels of hormones such as estrogen and progesterone stimulate the proliferation of breast glandular tissue and ducts, leading to gradually enlarged and tender breasts, as well as enlarged nipples and darker areolas.
It is recommended that pregnant women rest adequately, ensure sufficient sleep, and avoid excessive fatigue during early pregnancy. A nutritionally balanced diet rich in protein and vitamins is advised, while avoiding raw, cold, spicy, or irritating foods. Folic acid should also be supplemented promptly to prevent fetal neural tube defects.
